Stewardship

We are thankful to the 227 organizations and individuals who established the ConnectMichigan Alliance, a permanent support organization for volunteerism in Michigan though the creation of a public/private endowment. As good stewards of the endowment, our board and staff work tirelessly to use our precious financial and human resources responsibly and innovatively, with a balanced blend of vision and practicality.

The ConnectMichigan Alliance commitment to building quality volunteer support infrastructure in Michigan nonprofit organizations is evidenced by the 92.9% of expenses that go directly to mission-related programs, direct support of our state and community partners, and organizational reserves. In addition, almost 49% of all revenues continue to be leveraged from sources outside of the endowment. While the endowment provides the backbone for ConnectMichigan Alliance programs, services, office space and staff, the diverse revenue sources allow us to deliver critical and timely services and develop innovative programming.

As the ConnectMichigan Alliance endowment provides a limited level of stability, our state’s needs continue to mount. Local nonprofit and community-based organizations who rely on volunteers to function seek training, resources and networking which are valuable to creating a vibrant and strong nonprofit sector. We invite others to become financial contributors to the long-term health of Michigan’s volunteer community by supporting the ConnectMichigan Alliance.
